TYPE Review Press Pack and Previous Press

Founded in 2008 in Glasgow, Scotland, TYPE Review is published three times a year. Our aim is to create a stable and widely circulated publication in which new writers have the opportunity to forward exciting works and ideas.

Our editorial team's focus is always on merit; however we are particularly focused on promoting unknown works. To this end we take bibliography into account, and hope that inclusion in TYPE will improve, rather than simply sustain, the readership of those it selects. Our guiding principles are:

• Review First Collections.
• Include works by unpublished authors.
• Give authors a larger space in which to work
• Where authors are reasonably well-published, accept work that is radical in its aims.

Each issue of TYPE Review comes in two parts, TYPE and FACE. TYPE includes individual works by authors, illustrations, editorial, reviews, correspondence. FACE is an open opportunity and invitation to create a pamphlet sized work (30-60 pages), giving a space in which to experiment with less common extended forms, or to create a long coherent collection. TYPE and FACE are published in a reversible format, back to back.

We also promote experimentation in form and distribution and attempts to merge old and new technologies and techniques. TYPE Review Online will be a large part of trying to integrate traditional methods of reading with new methods. We believe that novelty is not naturally positive, and that what fits one work may not fit another.

TYPE Review Volume 1 Issue 2 was launched at the Kibble Palace, Botanic Gardens, Glasgow on the 29th May 2009.
