Submission Guidlines

Please make sure to include the following information

1) How you came to hear about TYPE.
2) The piece(s) of writing.
3) A description, or example, of how you would like the piece to be formatted.
4) Exactly how (ie: middle names etc) you would like your name to be presented.
5) Whatever biography you wish to be included. (May not be used)
6) You are welcome to provide a photograph. (May not be used)

You may submit as many pieces as you like. We do allow Anonymous pieces, but for copyright purposes you must provide us with a real name - we will not make this publicly available.

Guidelines

Our goal is to present varied and interesting works by authors of all ages, backgrounds, dialects and styles.

Due to space constraints we mainly concentrate on shorter pieces, as a guideline:

• poems up to 200 lines
• prose pieces up to 2000 words.

We will of course consider each piece on its individual merits, including anything we receive that is more substantial than this. Also note that we usually cannot accept pieces that have been previously published in any form, and anything you submit must be completely your own work, ie: you must retain appropriate publishing rights. Often this means works entered into other journals or competitions must be excluded.

TYPE Review aims to maintain a high level of editorial selection. This means that there is no guarantee that work will be accepted. We will often give comment and critique on work submitted unless you request that we do not do so. Though you should do so yourself before submitting, we will also check basic spelling and grammar, and respond to confirm any changes we think may be necessary. Technical spelling and grammar is not necessary, nor particularly desired, and is only an issue if erroneous. Our decision not to publish a piece in one form does not necessarily mean that we will not accept it if it is submitted in another incarnation. There are no forms or subjects that are preferred and works will be judged upon their merits.

Usage of Materials

On submission you give us the implied right to publish the work both in the hard-copy review (TYPE Review), and online (TYPE Review Online, type-review.com). When not appearing on the front page, it will be retained in the permanent on-line archive. The piece will be permanently accredited to you, and will never appear without such accreditation. Links to the work, and small teaser sections may be made available via RSS/Atom feeds and via search engines.
